The guidelines for obtaining third party documentation documentation of chronic homelessness once the individual or family has already entered the program are:
- PSH programs are allowed to obtain third-party documentation for 180 days after a household enters the program, if the PSH program was not able to obtain third party documentation at intake.
- Even if a PSH program is at their 25% cap, they could accept a new participant who only has self-certification for all 12 months and then work to obtain third party documentation.
- However, if the program was unable to obtain third party documentation within 180 days, the program could no longer serve that client with CoC funds (if the program was still at it's 25% cap).
